Jumping Exercises-How to Jump Higher

March 8th, 2010 No comments

You might be able to grow taller a little bit with a lot of stretching and doing the proper workouts. But if you play a sport and you want to be better at it, like indoor volleyball, basketball or beach volleyball you need to learn how to jump higher.

Learning how to increase vertical leap will give you a great advantage on your competition. Let’s face it, if you are not 6′3″ or taller, you will have no chance playing basketball or volleyball competitively against any good athletes. But if you can learn how to dunk a basketball it doesn’t matter if you are 5′6″ or shorter. As long as you can get up as high as the other people around you, you will be able to compete with them on any level.

Learning how to jump higher in basketball will use the same plyometric exercises as volleyball or any other sport. You have to be able to explode and that comes from proper training. Jump training programs are a dime a dozen so which vertical training will you undertake? You need to follow the jump experts and they are mainly Jacob Hiller and Cade Orvin.

If you can follow the jumping exercises outlined in the Jump Mentor or Jump Manual, you will be dunking and spiking on your competition in no time.

Stretches to Grow Taller

My dad was 5′6″ about 5 years ago and now he is 5′”2 at best.  He has shrunk 4 inches over the past 5 years and this could have been prevented if he had just done a few simple stretches to grow taller.

Some people may not be able to grow much taller, but most people have at least 1 inch extra in height that they have lost from years of standing and slouching.

Laying on a flat service can do wonders for your height and posture. How long do you sit in front of a computer or work where you are bent over and causing your back to slouch? We can’t all afford chiropractors but we can afford to spend some time doing stretches and exercises to grow taller and prevent shrinking.

Laying of the floor for 1 minute will help you straighten out a little bit but you need to strengthen the back muscles to correct your posture. Lay on your back and tuck in a ball roll back and forward to stretch out the back.

The lay on your stomach with hand above your head for one minute. Now you will do some back exercises from this position. You will raise your left arm and right leg and hold them elevated for 2 seconds and then switch to your other leg and arm. Do this 12 times before going back to rolling on your back. Go through each of these 4 times.

Then you will lay on your stomach and put your hands shoulder width apart and push up while keeping your thighs touching the ground. This will stretch your back and abdomen. From that position you will sit back on your feet with your arms fully extended on the floor in front of you. Go back and forth between these 2 positions 4 times.

Now you will need to find somewhere that you can hand from. Grab a bar above your head and hang. While hanging you look down until your chin touches your chest, this will stretch the back really well. As soon as you let go of the bar, bend over and touch your toes. Go back forward between these two stretches at least 4 times.

All of these stretches will take less than 15 minutes and will keep your from shrinking and can even give you an extra inch or two.

Grow Taller 4 IdiotsMany people wonder if they can grow taller after they are supposed to be done growing.  The answer is yes and no.  You may not be able to grow much taller but you very likely have 2 inches of height that you are lacking due to tight muscles and other factors.

So the question is can you grow taller from doing certain exercises?  The answer to this question is yes for about 95% people.  As you may alread know older people shrink with age.  This is because their bodies are constantly fighting gravity and the spine compresses.  Even at age 25 you are already starting to shrink.  So you can do stretching exercises to grow taller.

Grow Taller HangToe Touch to Grow TallerOne of the best exercises to grow taller is a combination of 2 different stretches.  First hang from a bar and then let go and bend forward to touch your toes while keeping your legs straight.  Combining these 2 exercises will allow you to lengthen many muscles at once. You should hold each stretch for 15 seconds and perform 10 reps for each set. Aim for doing 4 sets throughout the day. Remember that you should never stretch when before you are warm. So either do a warm-up before stretching or stretch after your workout.
